I couldn’t walk away, this colour was so pretty I had to pick up Fresh Peach for $16 CAD.  I really enjoy a good lip gloss and this one is a good one!

Fresh Peach is has a lovely shimmer which just looks lovely on the lips.  It applies smoothly and is not sticky, I kept rubbing my lips together the first time I wore it because the slip to it was so nice.  Surprisingly, this lip gloss stayed on very well, even after eating there was residual gloss and colour left.  The applicator is an hourglass shape, and is very easy to use, I think this could be one of my favourite shaped applicators as it hugs your lips during application.  I’m happy to have found this gloss, it’s nice to use and oh so pretty too!

Have you ever walked by something then suddenly took a few steps backwards to see what it was?  That was me with this product!  This was new to me and I had heard nothing about it.  I picked up the colour 105 Gel-Ful for about $8 CAD.  My first thought was how similar it looked to Too Faced Melted Lipsticks.

The squeeze tube brings the lipstick up through the sponge tip applicator.  It is a bit stiff, but it applied the lipstick quite nicely.  I needed two coats for full opacity.  The website suggests you blot after application, but if you don’t put too much on, there is really no need to.

This is not a long wearing product, but it did manage hold some colour through a coffee and later some lunch.  Touch ups are easy and does not build up or flake.  There was a handful of odd colours to choose from ranging from brown to blue, bright purples and some reds.  This one was the only one I would consider nude and it leans more on the warm peach side.  This colour is also quite different from the colour of the tube which looks a little more pink mauve.  It’s a nice lipstick, it’s comfortable and it wears well, you can’t ask for more than that!

New products at Walmart, of course I had to stop and take a look.  I found this palette interesting because it had some fairly light and neutral colours in it and I liked them all.  I bought it for $9.97 CAD.

This palette has a highlighter, two blushes and a bronzer (FYI-the picture in the bottom right hand corner is much darker than the actual palette).  The blushes look fairly similar, but no so on the face.  The highlighter is also natural and very pretty.  The bronzer is just right for my skin tone.  An awesome feature is that the squares of product are removable and if you have another Elf palette, you can completely customize it with the colours you use most often.  The products wear very well and keep their colour all day long without oxidizing.  This face palette is extremely natural looking, but all of the products are buildable if you need a more intense look.  The packaging looks great as well, it’s sleek and silver and has a mirror in the lid.  For under $10 this palette is a great deal with usable pretty colours.

I never realized that e.l.f. had more than one lip exfoliator.  My favourite one had big chunks of sugar in it and I thought this one was just a different flavour.  I picked it up at Walmart for $3.97 CAD.  I had it for awhile before I gave it a try and I was very surprised that this formula had a completely different texture.

Besides having a mint flavour this one had very fine granules of sugar imbedded into the product.  Although I loved the one I had always used, this one was so much easier to use.  It glided on easily and just a couple of passes on the lips and the job was complete!  The mint flavour and tingling was a nice bonus.  I removed the excess with a face cloth.  Although there are plenty of moisturizing ingredients, I still had to follow up with a balm after treatment.  There were also different flavours available and I’m not sure if they all have the same texture as this one but you better believe, I will be looking for them!  This is a quick, effective and inexpensive lip exfoliant, you really can’t pass this one by!

Impulse buy.  I saw it and I decided I needed to try it.  I picked up the colour Deep Blue for $9.97 at Walmart.  I’ve been looking for a good mascara lately and I’m not finding what I want, I was hoping this one was a game changer for me.

The colour Deep Blue was quite a bit lighter than I thought it might be and I immediately thought I had made a mistake.  It actually dries quite a bit darker without losing the blue colour.  I love it!  The scary wand was something I thought I might have to work with, but I managed to get long lashes on the first try, I was quite impressed!  I don’t use the small bristles on the opposite side of the brush, but I think it would be handy if you had some hard to reach lashes.  I did not get the waterproof version and the mascara stayed on all day without smudging, I did have some slight flaking though.  I started using it with a primer and I’ve had no flaking since.  I like the length I get with this mascara and I also really like the wand, it’s working quite well for me and I have not reached for another mascara since buying this one.  I finally feel like I’ve found a mascara that gives me exactly the look I want, long lashes without clumps and I really like the fact that it’s blue as well!

When you try something new, sometimes it’s great and sometimes it isn’t.  I’m not sure why, but I don’t like this product.  The price (I’ve forgotten) is around the $10-$12 range CAD.  I’ve always been a fan of Colorstay products but this one just missed the mark for me.

I bought the colour blonde, it’s not a bad colour, but I tend to prefer taupe eyebrow pencils for me.  I really like the spoolie but I don’t like the shape and design of the pencil.  The flat side applies light on my brows and if I’m looking for more definition and try to use the sharper tipped edge it looks darker somehow.  I end up brushing most of it away with the spoolie trying to blend them both together.  The pencil also drags a bit and sometimes retracts into the tube during use.  I don’t think it’s a terrible product, I just think because of the design and or the colour, I just don’t like the look I get when I use it.

My Topbox arrived and guess what I received AGAIN!?  I have a few words about that later…

I received a hot oil treatment and I’m excited to give it a try, I have never heard of this brand before.  I received a watermelon flavoured lip balm from Mettrum Originals.  I Googled the company and apparently they sell medical cannabis along with this line of hemp based products and foods as well.  I tried the lip balm out and it felt quite heavy and a bit waxy on the lips.  It smells nice though.

I received a deluxe sample of Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Chihuahua.  I love the melted metal formula, so I’m glad to try this formula out, but I fear the colour may be wrong for me.

I received a card sample of Cover Shot eye shadows from Smashbox.  I just reviewed this palette in Golden Hour and I’ve really enjoyed it.  Last and I hope it’s the last, please let it be the last.  I received another sample of Bella Aura skincare.  Topbox must have received samples of the the entire line, because this is the fourth month in a row I have received something from it.  This one, like all of the others has a smell that I cannot tolerate and I threw it into the garbage immediately.  I checked their website and there is one more item in the line that I’m willing to bet will be in March’s bag.  I am happy with my Topbox this month, a couple of new products to try is always a nice thing.  I hope I’ve seen the last of Bella Aura, but I guess I will find out next month.
